Day 1 - June 28
Today, our Maritime adventure begins as we set our sights eastward and embark on an unforgettable journey toward Canada's beautiful Atlantic provinces. Settle into your comfortable McCoy motorcoach, meet your fellow travellers, and enjoy the anticipation of the exciting days that lie ahead.
As we travel through the scenic landscapes of Ontario and into Québec, we'll make a special stop at an authentic Québec sugar shack. Experience a cherished French-Canadian tradition as we enjoy the warm hospitality, rustic atmosphere, and delicious local flavours with live entertainment.
Afterwards, as we continue on to historic Québec City, one of North America's oldest and most charming destinations. Upon arrival, we'll check into the Hotel Plaza Quebec and have time to relax before gathering together for an included welcome dinner.
Day 2 - June 29
This morning, we'll meet our local step-on guide for a tour of beautiful Québec City after our included breakfast at the hotel. Rich in history and European charm, Québec City is one of North America's oldest settlements and is home to iconic landmarks such as the Château Frontenac and the fortified Old City.
Our tour concludes in the charming Quartier Petit-Champlain, one of the oldest shopping districts in North America. Enjoy lunch on your own in this picturesque cobblestoned neighbourhood.
This afternoon, we'll continue eastward into New Brunswick, Canada's largest Maritime province. By evening, we'll arrive in Edmundston, a welcoming bilingual city nestled along the Saint John River and known for its strong French and Acadian heritage.
After checking into our hotel, we'll gather for an included dinner with our fellow travellers as our Maritime adventure continues.
Day 3 - June 30
After an included breakfast at the hotel, we'll continue our journey through New Brunswick toward the historic city of Saint John.
Our first stop today is the spectacular Grand Falls Gorge, one of New Brunswick's most impressive natural attractions. Here, the Saint John River plunges dramatically through a deep rocky gorge, creating breathtaking views and excellent photo opportunities.
We then continue to Saint John, Canada's first incorporated city, where we'll meet our local step-on guide for a fascinating tour of this historic seaport. Founded in 1785, Saint John is known for its rich maritime heritage, beautiful architecture, and vibrant waterfront.
Highlights of our city tour include the famous Reversing Falls Rapids, where the powerful tides of the Bay of Fundy force the Saint John River to reverse its flow twice daily-one of the most remarkable natural phenomena in the world!
Following our tour, we'll check into our hotel, The Four Points Edmundston, which will be our home for the next two nights. This evening, enjoy an included dinner and relax as we settle into Saint John and prepare for more Maritime discoveries tomorrow.
Day 4 - July 1
The charm of coastal New Brunswick awaits today as we travel to picturesque St. Andrews by-the-Sea, one of Canada's most beautiful seaside towns. Before departing, enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel.
Today's highlight is an exciting whale watching cruise in the Bay of Fundy, one of the world's premier whale-watching destinations. Keep watch for whales, seabirds, and other marine wildlife as we explore these legendary waters.
Following our cruise, enjoy free time to explore the shops, waterfront, and historic charm of St. Andrews by-the-Sea. Later this afternoon, we'll return to Saint John, where dinner is on your own and the evening is yours to enjoy before our second overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 - July 2
Today, we bid farewell to New Brunswick and cross the Bay of Fundy by ferry, making our way into beautiful Nova Scotia. An included breakfast at the hotel starts our day before our nautical journey.
Upon arrival, we'll travel to the charming town of Digby, proudly known as the Scallop Capital of the World. Rich in Acadian heritage and maritime tradition, Digby offers stunning waterfront views, friendly hospitality, and a fascinating history that dates back more than 200 years.
This afternoon, we'll check into the elegant Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa, a historic resort overlooking the Annapolis Basin and the Bay of Fundy. With its picturesque setting and classic charm, the Digby Pines has welcomed guests from around the world for generations.
This evening, we'll gather for an included dinner at the resort, the perfect way to relax and enjoy the warm hospitality of Nova Scotia as the next chapter of our Maritime adventure begins.
Day 6 - July 3
Today, we'll journey through Nova Scotia's beautiful Annapolis Valley, a region celebrated for its fertile farmland, rolling vineyards, and picturesque landscapes. Before departing, enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel as we prepare for another memorable day of discovery.
Our first stop is the Grand-Pré National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that tells the story of the Acadian people who settled this region in the 17th and 18th centuries. Through its beautiful gardens, memorials, and interpretive exhibits, Grand-Pré commemorates the resilience, culture, and enduring legacy of the Acadians, making it one of the most significant historic sites in Atlantic Canada.
We'll then visit a local Nova Scotia winery for a tour and tasting. The Annapolis Valley's unique climate and rich soil have helped establish the region as one of Canada's premier wine-producing areas, offering an opportunity to sample some of the area's finest vintages.
This afternoon, we'll continue to Halifax, Nova Scotia's vibrant capital city and the economic and cultural heart of Atlantic Canada. Upon arrival, we'll check into the elegant Prince George Hotel, our home for the next two nights. Ideally located in the heart of downtown, this award-winning hotel provides the perfect base for exploring all that Halifax has to offer.
Day 7 - July 4
Today, we'll meet our local step-on guide and set out to explore Nova Scotia's spectacular South Shore. Our first destination is the world-famous fishing village of Peggy's Cove, where rugged granite shorelines, colourful fishing boats, and the Atlantic Ocean create one of Canada's most iconic landscapes. Here, we'll enjoy an included breakfast together overlooking the village's famous lighthouse, a beloved symbol of Nova Scotia and one of the most photographed landmarks in Canada.
Continuing along the scenic South Shore, we'll arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Lunenburg. Founded in 1753, Lunenburg is one of the best-preserved British colonial settlements in North America and is renowned for its colourful waterfront, distinctive architecture, and rich maritime traditions. The town was once home to fleets of Grand Banks fishing schooners, including the famous Bluenose.
During our visit, we'll explore the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, where exhibits and historic vessels bring Nova Scotia's seafaring heritage to life. Learn about the brave fishermen, shipbuilders, and coastal communities that helped shape the region's history.
Later this afternoon, we'll return to Halifax, where the evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Explore the vibrant downtown waterfront, dine at one of the city's excellent restaurants, or simply relax and reflect on another wonderful day in the Maritimes.
Day 8 - July 5
Today's adventure takes us from Nova Scotia to the gentle rolling landscapes of Prince Edward Island. Before departing Halifax, enjoy an included breakfast as we begin another exciting day of exploration.
Our first stop is the remarkable Joggins Fossil Cliffs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important fossil locations in the world. Here, towering coastal cliffs reveal layer upon layer of ancient rock, preserving the world's most complete fossil record from the "Coal Age" more than 300 million years ago. This extraordinary site offers a fascinating glimpse into a prehistoric world long before the age of dinosaurs.
An included lunch is provided before we continue our journey toward Prince Edward Island. Crossing the impressive Confederation Bridge, the world's longest continuous multi-span bridge is a memorable experience in itself. Stretching nearly 13 km (8 miles) across the Northumberland Strait, the bridge serves as the gateway to Canada's smallest province.
Upon arrival, enjoy some free time in Charlottetown, known as the "Birthplace of Confederation." Stroll through the historic downtown, browse unique shops, or simply take in the charm of this vibrant island capital.
Later this afternoon, we'll check into the Hampton Inn & Suites Charlottetown, our home for the next two nights. This evening, we'll gather for an included welcome dinner at the hotel.
Day 9 - July 6
Prince Edward Island's rich history, stunning coastal scenery, and literary heritage take center stage today. Following an included breakfast at the hotel, we'll begin with a guided walking tour of Charlottetown, the charming provincial capital known as the "Birthplace of Confederation." Discover its historic streets, elegant architecture, and fascinating stories as we explore one of Canada's most beloved small cities.
This afternoon, we'll meet our local step-on guide and set out to explore the scenic North Shore of Prince Edward Island. Along the way, marvel at the island's iconic red sandstone cliffs, pristine white beaches, gently rolling sand dunes, and patchwork fields that make this landscape so distinctive. We'll travel through Prince Edward Island National Park, a protected stretch of coastline renowned for its natural beauty and breathtaking ocean vistas.
A highlight of the day is a visit to Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the enchanting setting that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery's beloved novels. Explore the charming surroundings that brought Anne Shirley's adventures to life and continue to captivate readers from around the world. Afterwards, we will return to Charlottetown and this evening we'll gather once again for an included dinner together.
Day 10 - July 7
Today, we bid farewell to Prince Edward Island and continue our journey through the Maritimes. An included breakfast at the hotel starts the day before we make our way toward New Brunswick, stopping at Cape Jourimain for a photo opportunity overlooking the Confederation Bridge and the scenic Northumberland Strait.
Next, we'll visit one of Atlantic Canada's most remarkable natural attractions, the Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy. Famous for their towering flowerpot-shaped rock formations, these incredible sandstone sculptures have been carved by the world's highest tides over thousands of years. Witnessing the power of nature at work is an unforgettable Maritime experience.
Following our visit, we'll enjoy an included lunch before continuing to Fredericton, New Brunswick's picturesque capital city. Situated along the banks of the Saint John River, Fredericton is known for its historic charm, beautiful waterfront, and vibrant arts and cultural scene.
This evening, we'll check into the elegant Crowne Plaza Fredericton Lord Beaverbrook, our home for the night. Take time to relax and enjoy the hotel's comfortable surroundings as we reflect on another memorable day of exploration in Atlantic Canada. Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 11 - July 8
Today, we begin our journey back home towards Québec City, reflecting on the wonderful memories and experiences we've shared throughout Atlantic Canada. After our included breakfast at the hotel we will depart for Québec.
Upon arrival in Québec City, we'll check into Hôtel Plaza Québec, our home for the evening. Known for its elegant atmosphere and unique indoor tropical garden, the hotel offers the perfect place to unwind after our travels. The property features a large indoor pool and hot tub set among palm trees and lush greenery, creating a resort-like atmosphere right inside the hotel.
Take some time this afternoon to relax and enjoy the hotel's amenities. Perhaps enjoy a refreshing swim in the indoor pool, soak in the hot tub, or simply unwind before our final evening together when we'll gather for an included farewell dinner.
Day 12 - July 9
Our Maritime adventure begins its final chapter today as we depart Québec City following an included breakfast at the hotel. Along the way, we'll stop in the heart of Old Montréal, where historic charm and vibrant city life come together along the banks of the St. Lawrence River.
We'll enjoy time for lunch on your own in the renowned Old Port District, famous for its cobblestone streets, beautiful heritage buildings, and lively atmosphere. With an abundance of restaurants, cafés, bistros, and pubs, you'll have no shortage of excellent options for lunch.
This afternoon, we'll continue our journey home, reflecting on the spectacular scenery, fascinating history, charming coastal communities, and new friendships that made this Maritime adventure so memorable. We hope you return home with wonderful stories to share and memories that will last a lifetime.
