Our Louise Penny Three Pines literary adventure begins as we depart Kingston and travel through the rolling hills and scenic beauty of Québec on our way into the heart of the Eastern Townships. Our first stop is a traditional Québec sugar shack, where we'll enjoy an authentic, family-style feast featuring classic maple-inspired dishes. Lively music and entertainment complete this quintessential Québec experience-a joyful and delicious way to begin our journey into Three Pines.
After lunch, we continue to the charming town of Magog and arrive at our beautiful lakeside hotel, Hotel Vers?. This evening, we'll gather for an included three-course dinner at the hotel's inviting restaurant, featuring fresh regional flavours and wonderful company.
After dinner, the evening is yours to enjoy. Take a relaxing dip in the heated outdoor pool, unwind lake-side, or stroll just two minutes into downtown Magog, where boutiques, cafés, and the vibrant waterfront await. A delightful and relaxing start to our time in the world of Louise Penny.

Enjoy a delicious included breakfast served at the hotel restaurant before we meet our Three Pines guide at 8:45 am who will lead us into the heart of Louise Penny's beloved world. Our first stop is the elegant Manoir Hovey, the real-life inspiration for the Manoir Bellechasse in A Rule Against Murder. Surrounded by beauty and steeped in atmosphere, it's easy to imagine the secrets and tensions woven through the pages of the novel.
We then travel to the fascinating Haskell Free Library and Opera House in Stanstead for a guided tour of this extraordinary building-famously constructed directly on the Canada-U.S. border. A true literary and architectural gem, it's a highlight for any Louise Penny fan.
Next, we enjoy a sumptuous included lunch at the McGowan Inn, a charming lakeside retreat overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Memphremagog-a perfect setting to relax, dine, and soak in the scenery. In the afternoon, we visit St. Thomas Church, which inspired the chapel in Still Life, followed by a stop at Mr. Béliveau's General Store, a cornerstone of the Three Pines community. Start your morning with a hearty included breakfast at Hotel Vers?, followed by a 9:00 a.m. departure with our Three Pines guide for another memorable day in the Eastern Townships.
Our first stop is the serene Abbey Saint-Gilbert Entre les Loups, the inspiration for Louise Penny's novel The Beautiful Mystery. Its peaceful setting and spiritual atmosphere echo the intrigue and quiet intensity of the story. Here, we'll enjoy a guided visit of the monastery and afterwards we will have time to shop in their boutique, known for its award-winning cheeses, handmade products, and warm hospitality.
Our journey continues to Auberge West Brome, where we'll enjoy an included gourmet plated lunch showcasing fresh regional cuisine in a peaceful countryside setting.
After lunch, we make our way to Knowlton, the heart and inspiration for the village of Three Pines. This charming place captures the spirit of Louise Penny's world like nowhere else. We'll visit the local museum, explore the settings that influenced the novels, and step into "Myrna's Bookstore," where we'll have some fun with a Louise Penny quiz-complete with prizes!
You'll then have free time to browse the boutiques, stroll the village streets, or simply soak up Knowlton's literary charm before we return to the hotel.
This evening, we gather for a truly memorable experience: a three-course dinner cruise aboard the luxurious Grand Cru, gliding across the sparkling waters of Lake Memphremagog. Enjoy exceptional cuisine, panoramic views, and a beautifully relaxing ambiance as we celebrate another day in the world of Louise Penny. After the cruise, we will return to the hotel.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Hotel Vers? before we board the motorcoach and depart at 10:30 a.m. for the beautiful and historic Old Port of Montréal. This charming waterfront district is known for its European-style architecture, cobblestone streets, and vibrant atmosphere.
Upon arrival, you'll have time to explore at your own pace-enjoy lunch on your own at one of the many inviting cafés or bistros, browse boutique shops, wander the picturesque streets, or take a ride on the impressive La Grande Roue de Montréal (additional cost), offering spectacular panoramic views of the city and river.
After our visit, we reboard our motorcoach and begin our comfortable journey home, with a rest stop along the way. A scenic and enjoyable finish to a memorable Louise Penny literary adventure.
