We'll begin our day with a 7:00am departure from Belleville, making brief stops along the way in Kingston, Gananoque, and Brockville. Today is a travel day for us as we make our way to beautiful Quebec. There will be comfort stops along the way.
Our trip begins in the city of Levis as we check into the Quality Inn and Suites around 3:00pm.
For those who would like to explore Quebec City, our motorcoach will drive us downtown around 4:00pm to shop and enjoy dinner on your own. Whether you have been to Quebec City a thousand times or this is your first visit, it is well worth your time. When strolling the city streets, you often have to remind yourself that you are in Canada and not in Europe. We will head back to our hotel at 7:30pm to have a relaxing night before our big travel day tomorrow.
After our included breakfast, we will depart to the hub city of Moncton, enjoying a scenic drive through Quebec with beautiful New Brunswick landscapes along the way.
On our way to our destination, we will have lunch on our own at Edmundston Pur & Simple.
Around 5:00pm we will arrive in Moncton, NB; our East Coast adventure officially begins!
Once we check into The Rodd Moncton, which is located downtown, dinner will be on your own. There are plenty of restaurants close to our hotel you can explore on your own. After your meal, venture around the city's downtown or walk along the waterfront trails located directly behind the hotel.
After our included breakfast this morning, we will leave the city of Moncton and visit the famous Hopewell Rocks.
We will enjoy a guided tour showcasing the world's highest tides at 9:00am. For thousands of years, the massive tides of the Bay of Fundy have been patiently sculpting their masterpiece in Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick.
Before we continue on our journey through Nova Scotia, you will get to know some of your fellow travellers as we enjoy our included welcome lobster lunch together. After our delicious meal, we will make our way to North Sydney where we will embark on the Marine Atlantic Ferry with our Newfoundland Guide, Chris. Before we board the ferry, we will have dinner on our own at the Governors Restaurant & Pub in Sydney; this is a great opportunity to get to know Chris!
Throughout the night we will travel on the ferry to Newfoundland.
We will enjoy an included breakfast buffet on the ferry before we begin travelling on dry land again. At 7:00am we will disembark the ferry and make our way to Deer Lake. We will have some time to see the natural beauty of the Deer Lake surroundings including the native wildlife, including moose and caribou.
After stretching our legs we will continue driving to Rocky Harbour, where coastal and mountain life unite. We will spend a couple of hours eating our included lunch and enjoying some music and storytelling. We will also have an opportunity to get 'screeched in' (this is an extra cost on your own). The Screech-In Ceremony is a Newfoundland tradition where visitors get the prestigious title of an honorary Newfoundlander!
At 2:00pm we will check into the Ocean View Hotel located in the heart of Gros Morne National Park. You will have the rest of the afternoon to explore Rocky Harbour on your own. This tourism community is a great launching point to the park with its towering cliffs, dramatic fjord valleys, glacial lakes and sandy beaches.
Feel free to join us for our dinner reservation at 6:00pm at the Oceans Room Restaurant located in our hotel. If you enjoy seafood, this restaurant will be right up your alley. Their selection of food is sourced from local suppliers and includes lobster, codfish, halibut, salmon, shrimp, scallops, mussels and more. They also showcase meatier offerings including local beef, chicken and lamb. If you would like a nice glass of wine to wash down your meal, check out their extensive list.
The rest of the night is yours to relax.
Our breakfast is included this morning at our hotel in Rocky Harbour. We will have the morning to relax by the ocean and continue exploring the area if we would like.
Lunch will be on our own today.
At 12:30pm, our adventures will begin with a boat tour of the Western Brook Fjord. Carved by glaciers, and home to plenty of waterfalls and wildlife, it's worth the trip alone. Explore the stunning vistas as we venture on our Western Brook Pond tour located in the Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Behold the spectacular glacier-carved land-locked fjord, waterfalls cascading from 2,000 feet that often turn to mist before reaching the pond, billion-year-old cliffs, and frequent wildlife sightings. You will have some free time to explore this magical national park.
After a full day of exploring this beautiful part of the world, we will make our way back to our hotel. If you would like to join us, we will be having our included dinner at the Anchor Pub this evening; the pub is located in our hotel. It is a great place to sip on a local craft beer and enjoy a bite to eat with some of your new friends.
Once everyone has eaten, there is a live performance in the pub called Anchors Aweigh! (This is an optional show that can be purchased at an extra cost at the time of booking). The show is filled with renditions of popular Newfoundland and Labrador songs and sprinkled with wit and one-liners. The show has become one of the best attended in the whole province.
The rest of the night is yours to relax on your own.
After our included breakfast, this morning we will check out of our hotel at 8:00am and make our way further East. There will be comfort stops and an included lunch along the way.
Once we arrive at our destination, we will spend the whole day exploring and taking in the breathtaking views of Twillingate!
The island town is located alongside Iceberg Alley, a vast corridor of ocean that runs from Greenland and is known as the Iceberg Capital of the World. Dinner will be on our own this evening in Twillingate at Pier 39 Restaurant & Pub.
After our meal, we will head to the city of Gander for the night. Once we check into our Sinbad's Hotel & Suites in Gander, the rest of the evening is on our own.
Breakfast is included this morning at our hotel. Once we check out, we will make our way to St. John's. After a few days of pure nature, we go back to the city; explore Newfoundland's capital and North America's easternmost city at the same time. The province's capital, is the perfect combination of big-city luxury and traditional small-town charm. It is one of the oldest cities in North America and has become a rare destination full of character and charisma, with a contemporary, sophisticated edge.
Once you have enjoyed lunch on your own, a local guide from St. John's will join us on our motorcoach to show us around Newfoundland's Capital. Once the tour is over, we will have time to explore the city before we check into the Delta located in downtown St. John's. Dinner will be on your own tonight; you can choose from a variety of restaurants close to your hotel. Be sure to plan for a meal at one of the culinary hot spots in the city. Multiple award-winning chefs are taking Newfoundland cuisine to new levels through locally foraged, fished and hunted fare. The rest of the evening is yours to partake in the nightlife of St. John's or head back to our hotel to relax.
We will enjoy an included breakfast at our hotel this morning. There will be time this morning to explore more of downtown St. John's and have lunch on our own at one of the many great restaurants located near our hotel. At 1:00pm we will head out for the day to Bay Bulls where we will embark on our Whale and Puffin Tour.
Experience the thrill of witnessing puffins and whales in their natural habitat on this top-rated Newfoundland puffin & whale boat tour. Marvel at playful puffins nesting on the cliffs and see incredible icebergs.
After our tour, we will make our way back to St. John's where we will spend the rest of the afternoon and evening exploring more of the downtown area. Wander down the narrow, criss-crossing streets naturally carved by horse and carriage. Pass the colourful jellybean row houses wedged together, lining the sides of steep hills and hidden alleyways. As you explore the city, stroll along some of the oldest streets in the New World, and visit the many shops, boutiques, lively pubs and cafes, and unique art galleries.
Dinner will be on your own tonight.
After an included breakfast at our hotel in St. John's, we will head to Clarenville where we will drop our luggage off at our hotel and have a quick comfort stop.
After we stretch our legs, we will drive up to Bonavista for lunch on our own. We will have time to explore Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site. For generations of mariners along this coast, the light at Cape Bonavista was their only connection to land while out on the dark sea. Built in 1843, it is one of the most photographed places in Newfoundland and Labrador.
We will then make our way to Trinity where we will have time on our own to see all of the historic buildings. The Historical Society offers a museum pass which you can purchase on your own if you would like. For those interested in family history and genealogy their archives have materials dating to the 1750's. During the 18th and 19th centuries the town and area became the major centre of trade on the northeast coast of Newfoundland.
After a full day of getting to know this beautiful area, we will head back to our hotel to check in. The coastline city of Clarenville is a small town nestled in the beautiful Shoal Harbour River Valley. The town is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty; surrounded by stunning seascapes to the east and endless country to the west, the town has an ambience of nature and outdoors, and the undying charm of coastal Newfoundland.
Dinner will be on our own this evening.
Breakfast is included this morning at your hotel in Clarenville. Once we check out of the hotel at 8:00am, we will begin our journey to Corner Brook. Along the way, we will stop in Deer Lake for our included lunch. After we have stretched our legs and refuel, we will take a short drive to our destination.
Once we check into the Glynmill Inn, our relaxing afternoon begins as we explore this quaint town. Located on Newfoundland's breathtaking west coast, Corner Brook provides access to a spectacular combination of ocean and mountain scenery. There are plenty of restaurants and shops for us to check out while we are walking around this beautiful area.
Once we have worked up an appetite, we will head back to our hotel for our dinner reservation at the Carriage Room. Dinner will be on your own tonight.
After your meal, the rest of the night is yours to relax. This tranquil inn nestled in a panoramic garden with white and green Tudor-style roof peaks is a perfect place to take an evening stroll.
Breakfast is included at our hotel. We will have a relaxed morning and at 10:30am we will depart Corner Brook to explore more of the region before we board our overnight ferry.
We will be stopping at the Captain James Cook Historic Site before our motorcoach takes us on a scenic drive along the Bay of Islands stopping at Lark Harbour and Bottle Cove. Our afternoon will be filled with spectacular views of Corner Brook, sandy beaches, crystal clear water, and rugged coastlines. Our lunch will be included today at a historical church in Lark Harbour.
After exploring the Bay of Islands we will head south to Port Aux Basques for dinner on our own before we board the Marine Atlantic Ferry. When we wake up, we will be in Nova Scotia!
After our included buffet breakfast on the ferry, we will say bye to our local guide, Chris. We will then board our motorcoach and make our way to Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Along the way, we will have lunch on our own at Amherst Frank & Gino in Amherst, Nova Scotia. There is something for everyone at this road trip diner! The menu is extensive; some of their specialties include pizza, pasta, and sandwiches.
After our delicious meal, we will continue on our travels. We will arrive in downtown Fredericton around 4:00pm and check into the Crowne Plaza, our home for the night. Our hotel is situated on the banks of the majestic St. John River and conveniently located within walking distance to many attractions.
We will check into our hotel around 4:00pm and have a couple of hours to relax before we head out to our included dinner reservation. We will be enjoying an authentic Maritime Kitchen Party; there is no better way to spend our last night in Atlantic Canada. We know Maritimers love to party and that usually happens in the kitchen! This is a housewarming party celebrated with traditional music and with a delicious spread of food.
At 8:00pm we will head back to our historic hotel. Downtown Fredericton is rather compact and can be easily explored on foot if you would like to take some time to see the town after dinner. Or feel free to relax at our hotel for the rest of the evening.
Breakfast is included this morning at the Crowne Plaza. At 8:00am we will check out of our hotel and begin our journey to Quebec City. We will make a quick stop in Edmundston to enjoy lunch on our own.
We will be checking into our Levis hotel around 3:00pm; afterward, feel free to join us as we head to Quebec City for a few hours. Sitting on the St. Lawrence River, this historical city offers cobblestone streets lined with bistros and boutiques. After dinner on your own, we will head back to our hotel for the rest of the night.
Our breakfast is included this morning at our hotel in Quebec. After we check out at 8:00am, we are home bound!
