It’s a match made in Heaven… The International Plowing Match and St. Jacob’s all in 2 days!
The 104th Plowing Match is taking place in Amaranth this year. Originating in Ontario, it is the largest outdoor agricultural rural expo in North America. After a day full of fresh air, competitions and entertainment, we will spend the second day of our tour in St. Jacobs.
The town of St. Jacobs is a special place to visit; the historic village is located along the Conestoga River and has a variety of charming downtown shops and restaurants. St. Jacobs also has the largest year-round farmers market in Canada with an abundance of meats, cheeses, fresh produce and more!

Day 1
We'll begin our day with a 7:00am departure from the McCoy Getaways office in Kingston. We'll make a few quick stops in Napanee, Belleville, and Cobourg to pick up other passengers in our group. Once everyone is onboard, we'll continue onward to the International Plowing Match in Amaranth. A comfort stop will be made along the way this morning.
We will arrive at the International Plowing Match around 11:45am. Lunch is on your own today; there are plenty of food options at the match to choose from.
Around 5:00pm we will head to Anna Mae's for our 6:00pm dinner reservation (included).
After our wonderful homemade meal, we will head to our hotel to check in. The rest of the evening is yours to relax on your own.
Day 2
Breakfast is included this morning at the Courtyard Marriott. We will check out of our hotel at 9:00am and head to the St. Jacob's Market.
The market is under a 10-minute walk from our hotel and opens at 8:00am. If you would like to head to the Market before the rest of the group check outs of the hotel, you are more than welcome to! The market is indoor/ outdoor so remember to bring appropriate clothing and walking shoes. If you are into antiques, there is an antique market that is only a 10 minute walk down the street!
Lunch is on your own today; there are many options at the market including Eva's Deli, Doner House, Market Grill and Perogie Palace.
At 12:30pm we will make our way to Picard's Peanuts for a visit and to shop for some goodies to take home with us.
Our last stop will be to the historic village of St. Jacob's. We will spend the afternoon checking out their unique shops and grabbing a bite to eat (on your own) before we start our journey back home around 6:00pm.
After making our drop-offs in Cobourg, Belleville, and Napanee, our anticipated arrival back in Kingston is 10:15pm.
